Claire Barton comes from a long line of Spider-Women. Her paternal grandmother was Jessica Drew, and her mother none other than May Parker, daughter of the Amazing Spider-Man.

A funny thing happened when she and her twin brother were born; although they both inherited the spider-powers that ran in their family, she and her brother seemed to "split" them; neither had the same power as the other. Claire received super-strength, organic webbing, wall-crawling, enhanced agility, and a venomous saliva she is loathe to use. She uses these powers to fight crime as the Spectacular Spider-Woman!
